August 2020 - manager update
Dear Relatives and friends
I hope you are all keeping well.
I am happy to say that all of our residents and staff remain sign
and symptom free. The new government guidelines have asked us to commence
regular COVID testing which we are going to commence as from next week.
Our residents will be tested on a monthly basis and our staff on a weekly
basis. We will of course inform you if any of your relatives test
positive.
The government have also advised that we drop down to one
visitor per resident and it be the same person for every visit. I
have thought long and hard about this and feel that our
visits currently remain in the garden and conservatory and as such we
are reducing the risk. Due to the uncertainty that in the future we may have a
second wave and we may need to lock down and stop visits completely I
have decided that visits will remain the same at present. My
Directors are in agreement with this. If there are any changes I
will inform you.
Our GP continues with visits by Facetime however the
Podiatrist and hairdresser are now visiting the home.
We are all working together to keep our residents entertained and
have introduced some new activities such as 'meals from around the world
day' and 'decade day' where by we have a quiz, games, food and staff
dress up from a past decade to prompt reminiscence. We
continue our usual activities of Arts & Crafts, board games,
flower arranging, music etc. Our Instagram name is @russettings_care_home please
follow us as we often post activity photo's from residents who have consented.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind Regards
Nikki
